Sochi meeting proved there’s no alternative to peaceful settlement of Karabakh issue

PanARMENIAN.Net - The statement adopted after a Sochi-hosted meeting between the Armenian, Russian and Azerbaijani presidents proved there’s no alternative to a peaceful settlement of Karabakh issue, according to a member of Publican Party of Armenia (RPA).

As Artak Zakaryan told a news conference in Yerevan, “the meeting aimed to improve the atmosphere in Armenian and Azerbaijani societies, altering their approach in order to promote peaceful settlement of the conflict.” At the same time, Zakaryan stressed the unchanging adherence of the Armenian society and government to peaceful settlement.

As RPA member noted, Azerbaijan always attempted to publicly refuse the obligations assumed, resorting to bellicose statements as a way out. “These statements, aiming to preserve strained situation in the region, were meant solely for the Azerbaijani public,” Zakaryan concluded.
