Expert: Madrid Principles were pushed to background![]() March 7, 2011 - 14:52 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The Madrid Principles for the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement were pushed to the background, the head of the research department at Caucasus Institute stated. “At present, the priority is given to strengthening of trust between conflicting parties,” Sergey Minasyan told a news conference in Yerevan. “Currently, Madrid Principles have a secondary priority. OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs have agreed on disallowing for the launch of hostilities in Karabakh conflict zone. There’s mutual consent on the issue,” he said. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
