Azerbaijan to transfer a captive to Armenia, ICRC says

PanARMENIAN.Net - Spokesman for the Baku Office of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Ilaha Huseinova said that Azerbaijan has agreed to transfer a captive to Armenia.

The personality of the civilian, who will be transferred, is not made public.

“The ICRC is negotiating the matter with the Azerbaijani and Armenian officials. Earlier, the Armenian side addressed to the ICRC office in Yerevan to express readiness to transfer an Azeri captive. Currently, our offices are holding talks,” Trend News quoted Huseinova as saying.

During their March 5 meeting in Sochi, President of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia adopted a joint statement envisaging swap of captives between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
