Placido Domingo, Yuri Bashmet to perform in Yerevan on Armenia’s Independence DayMarch 16, 2011 - 13:55 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The world-famous tenor Placido Domingo and acclaimed alt player Yuri Bashmet will perform in Yerevan’s Republic Square on September 21, Armenia’s Independence Day. As the art director and chief conductor at Armenia’s State Philharmonic Orchestra (SPO) Eduard Topchjan told a news conference in Yerevan, the concert will be performed jointly with the Orchestra, celebrating its 85th jubilee in 2011. In 2010-2011, the SPO gave 35 concerts in Yerevan, also touring over Germany and Slovakia. For the second consecutive year, the Orchestra is sponsored by VivaCell-MTS company.
