U.S. cannot interfere in Armenia’s internal policy, Marie Yovanovitch says![]() March 23, 2011 - 20:10 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - At news conference in Yerevan, the U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Marie Yovanovitch commented on the possible launch of a dialogue between the country’s authorities and the opposition. As Ms. Yovanovitch pointed out, though hailing the decrease of strain in Armenia’s internal policy, the U.S. cannot interfere in the internal processes of the country. The U.S. supports principles, rather than political figures, she noted. At the same time she gave high assessment to the announcement of amnesty for Armenian opposition supporters, expressing hope that the process will continue into the future. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
