Armenian President will be first passenger of Yerevan-Stepanakert flight![]() March 31, 2011 - 13:55 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan promised to be the first passenger of the plane to land in the newly built Stepanakert airport. “The people of Nagorno Karabakh undoubtedly have the right to use air transport services. Armenia and NKR will spare no effort to properly coordinate all issues with international institutions,” he said during a joint news conference with Swiss President Micheline Calmy-Rey. Commenting on Azerbaijan’s threats to shoot down Karabakh-bound aircrafts, President Sargsyan said, “Threats to shoot down civilian planes are nothing but nonsense.” ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
