Operations on liquidation of military bases of Karavachar (Kelbajar) region started on March 27-April 5, as they had posed a serious threat to western borders of NKR. After gaining the intersection connecting Kelbajar with Gyanja (Gandzak), the Karabakh forces reached Omar pass on April 5.
