Azerbaijan’s attempts to transfer Karabakh conflict discussion to NATO senseless

PanARMENIAN.Net - Head of the Armenian delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (PA) Karen Avagyan said that Azerbaijan’s attempts to transfer the Karabakh conflict discussion to NATO will lead to nothing.

Azerbaijani parliament members have repeatedly tried to put various draft resolutions on the NATO PA session’s agenda, Avagyan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.

“However, they have failed in doing so. It proves that they just imitate ‘heavy activity’. NATO’s stance in the Karabakh conflict is clearly stated – the OSCE Minsk Group is the only format for the conflict settlement,” said Avagyan.

He added that the Armenian delegation already started receiving materials of the NATO PA session in Varna due May 27-30, and they do not contain anything about Azerbaijan’s draft resolution.

“If a similar resolution appears, we will take certain actions to prevent its inclusion in the NATO PA session’s agenda. We succeeded in doing so up to date,” concluded Avagyan.

The Azerbaijani delegation to the NATO PA is going to submit a draft resolution on Nagorno Karabakh for discussion during the spring session of the NATO PA, 1news.az reported.
