Two Swedish journalists arrested in Azerbaijan

PanARMENIAN.Net - Two journalists of the national television of Sweden were detained in Baku on Sunday, April 17, and accused of violating the visa regime over illegal photo shooting of the site.

“We were standing in a park doing nothing. Two men appeared and asked my colleagues to follow them. Some time later, I received an sms-message saying that they will be deported for violation of the visa regime. But the fact is that they did not shoot anything, as they don’t have a camera,” said a third journalist, who was not detained.

“We arrived in Azerbaijan as journalists accredited by the local Ministry of Foreign Affairs and did not violate any rules. We have already informed the Swedish embassy of the incident,” Turan agency quoted him as saying.
