NEW AMBASSADOR OF ARMENIA TO GREAT BRITAIN APPOINTED

PanARMENIAN.Net - YEREVAN, February 27. /Mediamax/. President of Armenia Robert Kocharian signed the decree of appointing Vahram Abadjian the Ambassador of Armenia to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Mediamax was informed in the press office of the president.

Vahram Abadjian was born in 1953, in the city of Gyumri. In 1975 he graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, department of international politics. In 1997 he graduated from the University of Vienna, department of Political Science, receiving his Master's degree. In 1999 Vahram Abadjian defended his thesis for Doctor's degree in the University of Vienna.

V. Abadjian was appointed in 1992 the head of the department of international organizations of the Foreign Ministry of Armenia. In 1994-1996 he was a member of the OSCE observers mission in Skopje, in 1996-1998 - the plenipotentiary in the center of conflict prevention in the OSCE Secretariat.

In 1998-1999 V. Abadjian was the member of the OSCE group in Central Asia and responsible for political issues in the OSCE Center in Bishkek. Since September 1999 Abadjian had been responsible for political issues in the OSCE head office in Central Asia.

Abadjian is fluent in Russian, English, French, German, Arabic and Macedonian. He is married and has a son. --0--
