Turks, Azeris try to frustrate Armenian Genocide commemoration in Washington

PanARMENIAN.Net - Hundreds of Armenians gathered at the Turkish embassy in Washington to protest the ongoing denial of the Armenian Genocide by Ankara.

At the same time, several dozens of Azerbaijanis and Turks arrived at the site with baseball bats and anti-Armenian sheets saying “Thank your America for not recognizing Armenian claims”, a source told PanARMENIAN.Net

Stopped by a policeman and asked why the passengers are holding baseball bats, the driver did not answer. Nevertheless, car was allowed to approach the scene. Getting out, Turks and Azerbaijanis started shouting out anti-Armenian slogans and waving Turkish and Azeri flags.

Interference of police officers helped avoid a clash.
