Iran to continue its strategic presence in international waters

PanARMENIAN.Net - Iranian Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said Iran's naval forces will continue their powerful and strategic presence in the international waters.

As reported by IRNA, Sayyari said that the Islamic Republic has adopted a defense doctrine, to defend the country's interests. He further said 30 other states from all over the world are also present in the Gulf in order to protect their interests.

Noting that Iranian vessels entered the Suez Canal for the first time after the 1979 Islamic Revolution, the Iranian commander said the trip "proved the strength of the Islamic Republic."

“The Islamic Republic is now capable of both building destroyers and repairing them,” said Sayyari, adding that the Iranian experts can also build different kinds of submarines.

The navy commander then warned the foreign vessels over any illegal entrance into the Persian Gulf region, saying that Iran is being defended carefully by the naval forces.
