Syrian authorities restore order in riot stricken-cities

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Syrian authorities restored order in all riot stricken-cities, an official source in Damascus stated. In Deraa (120 km to the south of capital) 149 extremists have been seized during an operation on liquidation of the armed gangs terrorizing the city.

Order was established in Homs, Latakia and suburbs of Damascus where violent street demonstrations took place over the last days. Representatives of the public inform about the population's positive response to actions of the army and security forces to suppress attempts at provoking anarchy and religious hatred. As a Syrian MP Mohamed Habash has declared, Syria “needs now, more than ever, serious and responsible efforts of all citizens to strengthen national unity in the face of external intrigues.”

On Monday, May 2, the National Council will gather for a session to confirm a comprehensive plan on political, administrative and economic reforms proposed by the new government of the republic, vikno.eu reported.
