Narek Margaryan, the advisor at Funcruft company, told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter that the idea to create an app for iPhones occurred to Funcruft in December 2010 and some months later a beta version was released. “Since 2007, when first iPhone was released, there has been a need to have an Armenian keyboard. iTunes accepted the app yesterday and during the day it was downloaded by 16 users, 4 of them are Armenian iTunes users,” Margaryan said. iTetr Armenian Keyboard” app can be downloaded from iTunes for 1.99$ (AMD 750), which is normal price for an iPhone app. “Actually, Funcruft company isn’t charitable, developers should be paid for their work,” Margaryan noted. “iTetr Armenian Keyboard” gives a possibility to type Armenian in a note then mail it. According to Margaryan, there’s a problem with sms writing and updating twitter or Facebook status. “We will improve all problems in next update of the app,” he said. “iTetr Armenian Keyboard” app works for all versions of iOS. This is the second app created by Funcraft. The first app called “Urinator” was devoted for those who have bladder problems. The next app by Funcruft will be the creation of a Georgian language keyboard. “Georgians also experience problems with typewriting in Georgian language. So we decided to create a Georgian keyboard app,” he said. Funcraft is an American company founded by 3-4 Armenians living in the U.S. They develop apps for Apple products, the target group being Armenians.
