Hackers plan third major attack on Sony PSNMay 6, 2011 - 19:57 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - A group of hackers is planning a third major attack on Sony PSN to take place over the weekend, CNET the tech news and software download site reported on May 6. Apparently one of the group’s members got cold feet, or grew a conscience, and decided to report the planned attack to the media by reaching out to CNET. The goal this time isn’t just to break in: the group wants to break in, steal as much information as possible – including credit card numbers, names, addresses, and more – and make it all public. They even claim to have access to some of Sony’s servers and don’t expect to have problems breaking in this weekend. Time will tell whether the threat is real or just a bluffing tactic designed to get Sony to batten down the hatches and prepare for another assault. It’s just as possible that as Sony is planning to bring PSN back online that there are other forces that want Sony to keep the network offline so players can’t sign in. One thing is sure, it’s going to be an interesting weekend for Sony customers and PlayStation3 gamers, even if nothing happens at all, according to Geek.com.
