Rain Bride ritual dolls exhibition kicks off in YerevanMay 7, 2011 - 13:52 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On May 7, the National Gallery of Armenia launched the opening of Rain Bride ritual dolls exhibition. Works of 45 artists were exhibited. According to exhibition organizer Manan Arakelyan, the number of those wishing to participate was increasing daily. “The exhibition aims at increasing public awareness of long-forgotten national dolls,” she said. The authors of the winning exhibits will be awarded with monetary prizes of AMD 40 000, 30 000, 20 000 respectively. The winners will be determined by the ethnographer Zhenya Avetisyan and painter Lusik Aguletsi.
