BILL OF NEW TERRITORIAL-ADMINISTRATIVE DIVISION OF ARMENIA IS SUBMITTED TO THE PARLIAMENTFebruary 8, 2001 - 22:17 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - 08.02.2001, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. "Orinats Yerkir" faction submitted for consideration to the National Assembly of Armenia the bill on new administrative-territorial division of the country.The authors of the document propose dividing the territory of Armenia into 19 regions, instead of present 11, which in their opinion will allow to make the system of management more effective. The present administrative-territorial division of the country is fixed by law, adopted by the Armenian parliament on Nov. 7, 1995. -0- Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
