Georgia unable to resolve Armenian churches' issue

PanARMENIAN.Net - The property of the Armenian Apostolic Church and its status in Georgia is a complicated issue. Tbilisi's refusal to recognize AAC Georgian Eparchy's legal status is another problem, according to Giga Zedania, director of Genealogy and Modernity Institute at Tbilisi's Ilia Chavchavadze State University.

As he noted, Georgia's political authorities won't have enough strength to act against Georgian Orthodox Church where the property of the Armenian Apostolic Church is concerned.

“There are influential institutions in Georgia opposed to the settlement of the issue for the benefit of AAC, and no one is prepared to contradict them,” the political expert noted.
