90% of Israelis speak out for Armenian Genocide recognition

PanARMENIAN.Net - News.co.il portal has launched an online survey on the threshold of Armenian Genocide discussion in the Knesset education panel. The question reads: “Should Israel recognize the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire?”

Out of 2000 responders, 1886 (90%) spoke out for the recognition. 208 (10%) said ‘no’.

With a 20-0 vote, Knesset transferred the discussion of the Armenian Genocide issue to the commission for education, culture and sports affairs chaired by a member of Our Home Israel (Yisrael Beiteinu) party, which strongly opposes to adoption of a resolution recognizing the Genocide.
