Independent Films Festival kicks off in YerevanMay 28, 2011 - 14:41 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The first pan-Armenian Independent Films Festival kicked off in the National Gallery of Armenia in Yerevan on May 28. “22 films will be screened in 4 nominations,” organizer of the event, CEO and President of the Center of Armenian Noncommercial Cinema (CANC) Artashes Hovannesian told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter. The festival jury headed by filmmaker Arman Manaryan includes film director David Safaryan, cameramen Ashot Mkrtchyan and Levon Grigoryan, script writer and director Gagik Zakoyanm Deputy Culture Minister Naira Yeghiazaryan and amateur filmmaker Arayik Sharbatyan. The best 5 films selected by the jury will be screened at UNICA film festival to be held August 20-28 in Luxemburg.
