RPA to determine format for oncoming elections by late autumnMay 30, 2011 - 15:12 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - By late autumn, the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) will determine the format of its participation in the oncoming parliamentary election, the party spokesman stated. As Eduard Sharmazanov told a news conference in Yerevan, RPA hasn’t discussed the issue yet. Commenting on Prosperous Armenia coalition party’s intention to submit its own candidates list, Sharmazanov noted every party is free to select its own tactic for political struggle. RPA spokesman characterized RPA-Prosperous Armenia relations as normal, dispelling rumors of a strain between the two parties. Sharmazanov takes the possibility of former President Robert Kocharian’s return into politics in its stride. However, as he remarked, RPA has its own leader (Serzh Sargsyan) and political agenda to be implemented.
