JACQUES CHIRAC MAY RECEIVE PRESIDENTS OF ARMENIA AND AZERBAIJAN IN THE NEAREST FUTURE

The press secretary of the French president Catherine Colonna declared that Jacques Chirac will receive Armenian President Robert Kocharian and the President of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev in Paris if they confirm their intention to visit France to participate in the work of the Council of Europe.

As Russian agencies report, Catherine Colonna also said that the settlement of the Karabakh conflict was one of the main subjects discussed during the phone talk of the Presidents of France and Russia, "with the consideration of Vladimir Putin's recent visit to Baku".

Chirac's press secretary also said that Russia and France, as co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group, are going to actively continue their efforts to resolve this problem.
