Nikol Pashinyan: ANC thinks only pre-term elections can solve current problems June 2, 2011 - 16:55 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Member of the Armenian National Congress (ANC), editor-in-chief of Haykakan Zhamanak paper Nikol Pashinyan said ANC thinks that only pre-term presidential and parliamentary elections can solve the current problems in the country. “In my opinion, the authorities will continue to pursue the policy of realism and conceive that an early presidential election is a way out of the situation, and it will allow overcoming the political crisis,” Pashinyan told a press conference in Yerevan. He added that ANC views pre-term presidential and parliamentary elections in a unity. I do not think that the authorities will manage to find another solution for the problems existing in the country, but for early elections, noted Pashinyan. As for a compromise of the authorities and ANC during the dialogue, Pashinyan said a dialogue does not necessarily imply concessions. He added that the most important thing during negotiations is the balance of strength between the parties, while ANC enjoys the people’s support in contrast to the authorities.
