Turkey sacrifices friendship with Armenia for cheese and honey

PanARMENIAN.Net - Cheese and honey monument will be erected instead of the Monument to Humanity, the symbol of Turkish-Armenian friendship in Kars province of Turkey. Visiting Kars on January 8, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan reportedly described the monument as a “monstrosity” that overshadows a nearby Islamic shrine.

As the head of the local municipality Nevzat Bozkus said, Kars is known as a manufacturer of cheese and honey which may greatly contribute to the popularization of the province, APA reported, citing Haberturk. “After the cost of the monument is assessed, a construction tender will be announced,” he said.
