Visiting Kars on January 8, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan reportedly described the monument as a “monstrosity” that overshadows a nearby Islamic shrine. As the head of the local municipality Nevzat Bozkus said, Kars is known as a manufacturer of cheese and honey which may greatly contribute to the popularization of the province, APA reported, citing Haberturk. “After the cost of the monument is assessed, a construction tender will be announced,” he said. ![]() ![]() Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit.
