No growth recorded in number of murders in Armenia over past years

PanARMENIAN.Net - Deputy Prosecutor General of Armenia Mnatsakan Sargsyan said that up to 85 murders and 25-30 attempted murders are recorded in Armenia annually. Studies indicate that no growth was recorded in the number of murders in the country, Sargsyan told a press conference in Yerevan.

He noted that 8-10% of people, who had already served a term in prison, commit a second offence annually.

Besides, according to Sargsyan, a fine has been set for crimes under articles 177 (grand theft) and 178 (cheating) instead of imprisonment.
