Armenian Justice Minister: there is no legal way for early elections in country

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Minister of Justice Hrayr Tovmasyan said there are not any grounds for holding pre-term elections in Armenia from the legal perspective.

After amendment of the Armenian Constitution in 2005, mechanisms and grounds for the parliament dissolution were clarified, Tovmasyan said during a discussion organized by Civilitas foundation.

“Today, there is no legal way for organization of pre-term elections in Armenia, since the country’s Constitution does not envisage it,” said Tovmasyan.

He advised the opposition to study the Armenian Constitution before laying down demands for early elections.
