FUA rector comments on clamor raised around university

PanARMENIAN.Net - Rector of the French University in Armenia (FUA) Joelle le Morzellec is going to apply to the Prosecutor’s Office and lodge a complaint against those people who discredited the university.

Recently FUA started receiving letters, which defame the university; besides defaming articles were published, Morzellec told a press conference in Yerevan.

The rector denied rumors that unhealthy atmosphere is established in the university.

Commenting on the fact that a group of lecturers has sued the university for non-prolongation of their contracts, Morzellec said the decree of the court of first instance was in their favor, but she is going to appeal against the decision.

As for reports that pro-rector of FUA Araik Navoyan had a conflict with graduate of the university Sokrat Mkhitaryan and even hit him, Morzellec said disputes between lecturers and students are a common phenomenon, expressing surprise with the clamor raised around the incident.

Navoyan said for his part that Mkhitaryan apologized for the incident.
