  Violinist Hrachya Avanesyan will participate in International Tchaikovsky Competition June 11, 2011 - 13:20 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Brussels-based Armenian violinist Hrachya Avanesyan was allowed to leave for Moscow to participate in International Tchaikovsky Competition through the assistance of Armenian Ministry of Culture. According to earlier Facebook-posted report, Avanesyan was wanted by police, allegedly, for military conscription-related problems. First Prize winner of the 2006 Yehudi Menuhin Competition, Armenian-born violinist Hrachya Avanesyan has performed extensively throughout Europe. Recent debuts include performances with such orchestras as the Belgian National Orchestra, London Chamber Orchestra, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, and the Danish Radio Orchestra among others. In 2008, Hrachya won First Prize in the Carl Nielsen International Violin Competition and in 2006 he won First Prize in Belgium's Prix Henri Vieuxtemps. Hrachya studied at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels with Igor Oistrakh and the Queen Elisabeth College of Music with Augustin Dumay. Hrachya plays on the 1717 "Piatti" Stradivarius.
