RA President: France important country for Armenia![]() June 17, 2011 - 14:58 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, met with Mr. Henri de Raincourt, the French Minister for Cooperation, who is currently in a visit to Yerevan. During the meeting, President Sargsyan emphasized that France has a special place in the foreign policy of Armenia. “We want to strengthen and expand our relations, what is conditioned both by historic and friendly ties between our countries and France’s international influence. And, of course, we wish to cement relations with the Armenian community of France,” he said. The two men also noted the high level of Armenian-French relations, intense and ongoing political dialogue, close interparliamentary cooperation, cultural and educational contacts as well as engagement of French companies in the Armenian economy. They also discussed a wide range of issues relating to Armenia-EU cooperation, the RA presidential press office reported. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
