  40 cases of snakebite injuries annually reported in Armenia  June 17, 2011 - 16:49 AMTPanARMENIAN.Net - Over January-June 2011, 12 people were injured from snake bites, one died against 14 injured last year, according to leading toxicologist of Armenia Mikael Gabrielyan As the expert told a news conference in Yerevan, 6 out of 12 incidents described occurred in the towns of Sisian and Goris (Syunik province). Annually, 30-40 cases of injuries from snakebites are reported in Armenia. By way of a first aid in case of a snakebite the expert recommended to suck the venom out by mouth and spit it out. It's further important to immobilize the bitten area until medical aid arrives.
