Ahmadinejad, Aliyev speak on phone, possibly about Karabakh![]() June 20, 2011 - 16:44 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad had a phone conversation not only with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan but also with Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev. According to the Azerbaijani presidential press office, Ahmadinejad and Aliyev exchanged views on bilateral relations and regional security. Earlier, Iran’s President talked with Armenian President Sargsyan to discuss development of bilateral relations and regional issues. Experts presume that the forthcoming meeting between the Armenian, Azerbaijani and Russian Presidents was among the topics discussed. Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Moscow on April 22 to hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. Authorities said a total of 192 Azerbaijani troops were killed and 511 were wounded during Azerbaijan’s offensive. Partner news |
