Kazan meeting temporarily postponed Karabakh issue settlement, ANC member says![]() ![]() PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia-Azerbaijan-Russia presidential meeting in Kazan temporarily postponed Karabakh conflict settlement, without bringing any benefit to conflicting parties, according to opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) member. As Gurgen Yeghiazaryan told a news conference in Yerevan, Kazan meeting will be followed by another one, where a document on conflict settlement will be signed. “We’re little aware of behind-the-scene processes around Karabakh issue. However, we allowed carte blanche to our authorities to prevent internal issues from affecting our country. We have no right to harm the state, however, without snap elections, the situation becomes increasingly worse,” he said. As he noted, internal issues must be resolved to oppose external challenges. “Snap parliamentary elections followed by presidential ones are essential. Armenia will be unable to withstand international pressure without a legitimate government,” ANC member noted. The June 24 meeting between Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia completed without an agreement on basic principles of Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement. The parties stated the progress on the way to this goal, the statement on the Kazan summit results runs. “The countries’ leaders registered mutual understanding on a range of problems, the resolution of which boosts creation of conditions for approving main principles,” according to the statement. It is also said in the document that the meeting participants considered the course of works carried out with the aim of coordination of the project with basic principles. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
