Georgia’s authorities insist on English version of the country name![]() June 27, 2011 - 21:17 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Authorities of Georgia call on international community to use an English version of the country name, that is, Georgia, (not Gruzia), according to Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Nino Kalandadze. “We have already come out with this initiative long ago, and addressed an official request to many countries to change the country name, and call it officially by an English version,” said Kalandadze adding that Korea first reacted on this request and already fixed the change of the country name. “We highly praise the decision of Korea, as many our friends and adherents, despite their numerous promises, cannot realize it yet. Although, we understand that change of country name is connected with technical and financial issues,” GHN quoted the Georgian Foreign Minister. ![]() ![]() Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert.
