Iran again offers mediation for Karabakh settlement![]() ![]() PanARMENIAN.Net - Iran supports resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict on the regional level and is ready to make an effort to that end, head of the Iranian parliament said. “We proposed that the conflict should be resolved peacefully and through negotiations,” Ali Larijani told a press conference in Baku, Azeri-Press Agency reported. “The superpowers think about their interests only, and, instead of solving the problems, they are playing for their benefit. The Minsk Group, which continues its activity for many years, has not done anything. In addressing this issue, we prefer regional efforts,” he said, adding that deployment of peacekeeping forces would be efficient if international institutions were independent from superpowers. “Now, stationing peacekeepers would only deteriorate the situation,” Larijani said. ![]() ![]() Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Moscow on April 22 to hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
