UKRAINE SUPPORTS TURKISH INITIATIVE ON FORMATION OF STABILITY PACT IN CAUCASUS

PanARMENIAN.Net - 24.11.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. The Ukrainian President visiting Turkey stated that his state supports the initiative displayed by Ankara on formation of the Stability Pact in Caucasus.

It was the Turkish ex-president Suleyman Demirel who initiated the formation of the Stability Pact in Caucasus.

The Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmitriy Tkach said in May, 2000 in interview to Mediamax: "the Caucasian region is vital for the Ukraine, and we are ready for participation in the establishment of the system of regional security." The Deputy Minister also said that Kiev follows the development of the situation around this issue. --0--
