Youtube changes its interface

PanARMENIAN.Net - The release of Google+ has been bringing redesigns with it to nearly every Google product over the last week, and YouTube appears to be no exception.

The YouTube Official Blog wrote that YouTube has redesigned and it is apparently part of a larger revamp project, called “Cosmic Panda,” and it’s more than just pretty lightboxes and CSS shading.

The overall look still manages to stay “YouTube.” Basically, instead of being white-washed, the page is now significantly darker and that’s how things are technically supposed to be when people are watching a video. Suggested/Related videos are now no longer crammed into a messy column, as each one has its own frame.

Playlists have gotten a major touch-up. Preview panes for playlisted videos line the bottom of the new video area, and previous/next buttons display on either side of the current video. The entire thing is not only easier on the eyes, but much better for quick navigation between videos. The option for changing a video’s size is also more clear, and while it could just be a good day for this computer’s internet connection, seems much faster than it used to be.

To activate the new look users should go to YouTube’s official Cosmic Panda page.
