Joao Soares to be appointed OSCE PA Special Representative in South Caucasus![]() July 8, 2011 - 21:56 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Honorary Chairman of OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Portuguese parliamentarian Joao Soares will soon be appointed to the post of OSCE PA President’s Special Representative in South Caucasus. As the head of the Armenian delegation to OSCE PA, Aram Safaryan told a news conference on July 8, “today, OSCE PA President Petros Efthymiou met with Armenian and Azerbaijani delegates to coordinate the candidature of OSCE PA President’s Special Representative in South Caucasus. Mr. Soares, well known both in Armenia and Azerbaijan was chosen to fill the vacant position.” Goran Lennmarker has acted as the Assembly's Special Representative on the Nagorno Karabakh Conflict completed his mission in September 2010. ![]() ![]() Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit.
