Coalition-opposition talks agenda still arguableJuly 13, 2011 - 15:39 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Member of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) Felix Khachatryan assures that conduction of extraordinary elections is the only topic the Congress is willing to discuss during the meeting with the authorities that will take place within coming 10 days. “To resolve the problems their cause - the illegitimate authorities - should be removed,” Khachatryan told a press conference on July 13. “This dialogue will help keep in contact with the country’s leadership to demand answers to the questions the Congress is concerned about,” he said. Asked by journalists which other questions the ANC is going to raise, if the only one it is speaking about is snap elections, Khachatryan said: “Early elections is a complex issue which includes discussions on organization and conduction of the elections.” For his part, member of Prosperous Armenia party Vardan Bostanjyan, who will represent the party at the talks, said that the coalition is ready to listen to the ANC demands and submit them to parliament. “The coalition delegation is not authorized to take decisions. It’s not a governmental panel. We meet just for discussions,” he said, adding that there are no legal or political reasons to hold early elections in Armenia. At the talks with opposition, the ruling coalition will be represented by Davit Harutyunyan and Gagik Minasyan (Republican Party of Armenia), Naira Zohrabyan and Vardan Bostanjyan (Prosperous Armenia), Khachik Harutyunyan and Mher Shahgeldyan (Orinats Yerkir).
