Departures from Armenia exceed arrivals by 67000 in 1st halfyear of 2011

PanARMENIAN.Net - In the fist halfyear of 2011, the number of departures from Armenia exceeded the number of arrivals by 67000.

As Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan explained at July 20 conference on migration issues, the figure cited does not suggest a new tendency, but rather continues the existing one.

“Parallel to improvement of Russian economy after the global crisis, activation in work migration rate was reported in Armenia, which, in turn, suggests the increase of population income from the work abroad,” the President explained.

During the conference, Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan reported on the course of governmental programs on migration policy.
