Armenia’s foreign policy more flexible, expert says

PanARMENIAN.Net - The director of Oriental Studies Institute, Turkish studies expert Ruben Safrastyan characterized Armenia’s foreign policy as more flexible, allowing the country to avoid many problems.

According to Safrastyan, Armenia has achieved much during 20 years of its independence, in contrary to other countries of the region.

“Armenia is the only member of the OSCE; after declaring independence, Armenia was the only country to retain its territorial integrity; Russian military bases are still deployed on the territory of Armenia, which is equally beneficial to both countries. Armenia has a NPP, which is of a major strategic significance,” the expert explained.

“I believe that our current policy will prevent us from repeating the mistakes allowed in the 1920s,” the expert stressed.
