Armenia to buy out Armenian artists’ works

PanARMENIAN.Net - An action envisaging purchase of Armenian artists’ works which are currently a part of private foreign collections will be organized, according to Armenian Minister of Culture.

As Hasmik Poghosyan stressed at July 26 news conference, the issue must be addressed immediately.

On June 8, 3 canvasses by a great Armenian painter Martiros Saryan were put on sale at MacDougall auction house. One of them, A Caucasus Street was sold for 324000 GBP.
