Medvedev: Situation in Africa and Arab world connected with situation in CSTO statesAugust 5, 2011 - 19:19 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - During unofficial summit of the leaders of Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member states next week in Astana, Kazakhstan, President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev plans to tell his CSTO partners about Russia’s mediating efforts directed at settling the situation in Middle East and North Africa. “I promised to inform our partners about Russia’s efforts targeted to influence on the situation in Middle East and North Africa, taking into consideration that both places are the most escalated now. I mean Lybia, certainly, and some other states and Middle East overall,” Medvedev told Nikolay Bordyuzha, CSTO Secretary as reported by RIA Novosti. “My plenipotentiaries are engaged in this in various parts of the world, therefore I will inform my partners for sure, as the situation in Africa and Arab world is connected directly with situation in CSTO states,” Medvedev said. On August 12, President Sargsyan will depart for Kazakhstan to participate in the unofficial summit of the leaders of CSTO member states in Astana, presidential press service reported. Currently, the President left for a short vacation, part of which he will spend abroad. On August 11, Mr. Sargsyan will participate in the ceremony dedicated to completion of Armenia sailboat’s world cruise; the ceremony is due in the town of Limassol, Cyprus.
