Italian daily says Karabakh recognition necessary

PanARMENIAN.Net - Italian weekly Il Dimocratico has published an article on Nagorno Karabakh.

The author, Armando Pascale, refers to recognition of Kosovo that was backed up by a national referendum and stresses the necessity of recognition of Karabakh by the international community.

Nagorno Karabakh had been populated by Armenians from the ancient times and is, consequently, an inseparable part of Armenia, the article says. It also notes that Baku pursued a policy of forced ‘Azerbaijanification’ of Armenian lands.

The author emphasizes that although being unrecognized, Nagorno Karabakh possesses all attributes of an independent state and its rejoining to Azerbaijan would be a violation of the international law norms on sovereignty.
