  Marten Yorgantz to perform in Armenia  August 25, 2011 - 12:57 AMTPanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian-French singer Marten Yorgantz will perform in Armenia on occasion of the country’s 20th anniversary of independence. “I will sing in Armenian provinces mostly,” the singer told a press conference in Yerevan. “As majority of concerts are played in the capital, children from provinces do not have the opportunity to attend.” He said he will sing his Armenian songs only. Marten Yorgantz (born June 24, 1946 in Istanbul) is a popular singer and composer. He recorded 24 albums in different languages, mostly in Armenian, Italian and French. Among his well-known hits are "Chkuytik", "Hayi Achker", "Hayeren Ergenk", In 1980 he opened a restaurant at Saint Georges, in the heart of Paris, where he regularly sings. After the 1988 earthquake in Armenia, he gave about 100 concerts for the Armenian children.
