Azerbaijan stands for continuation of talks on peaceful resolution of Nagorno Karabakh conflict, the country's top diplomat said.

“Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia have held 10 meetings but we possess no information about a new one that can possibly take place in the near future,” 1news.az quoted Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov as saying during a joint press conference with Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic.

“Russian President attempted to achieve some progress by hosting trilateral meetings between heads of state, but the initiative produced no result. However, a huge deal of work has been done and certain agreements achieved,” Mammadyarov said, adding that Baku “is for continuation talks to reach a peaceful resolution of the conflict in line with international law norms.”

According to him Azerbaijan “supports good neighborly relations with the states of the region.”

Recently, media reports suggested that OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs are set to organize a meeting between the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan on the sidelines of the 66th UN General Assembly session on September 13.
