Ex-chief of Armenian road police charged with major embezzlement

PanARMENIAN.Net - Former chief of Armenian road police, police colonel Margar Ohanyan was charged with the abuse of power and major embezzlement in accordance with part 2, article 308 and 1st paragraph, part 3, article 179 of Armenia’s Criminal Code.

The investigation is under way.

According to Armenian media reports, the 6th police department has been inspecting the road police system over the past month. Some reports suggest that the inspections were conducted by the order of police chief who strives for Ohanyan's resignation by any means.
