Poland suggests cancelling visa regime for EaP states

PanARMENIAN.Net - During the European Union ministerial meeting in Sopot, Poland, EU foreign ministers discussed the Eastern Partnership (EaP) countries’ prospects of joining the Union.

This issue will be on top agenda during the EU-EaP summit in Warsaw on September 30. A Final Declaration will be adopted in the summit attended by heads of states and governments.

As a current EU president, Poland put forward an initiative to promise full economic integration of the Eastern-Partnership countries. At the same time, Poland proposed visa-free travel for the six countries which joined the Eastern Partnership program, instead of visa facilitation, APA reported, citing Poland’s PAP news agency.

The Eastern Partnership is an organization aiming to improve the political and economic trade-relations of the six Post-Soviet states of strategic importance - Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia with the European Union.
