MP: Law in the army must be 100% in force

PanARMENIAN.Net - To prevent tragedies in the army legislative base is to be developed.

“Also implementation of those laws in the army is to be provided,” Hrayr Karapetyan, Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs told journalists. “Law in the army must be 100% in effect,” according to Karapetyan. He also added that many of the tragedies in the army are conditioned by the soviet army, which is common in many CIS countries. Here he noted that crime is most common in the Russian army, where soviet traditions are stronger.

According to Karapetyan he had a meeting with his committee regarding the latest incidents in the army. The meeting was attended by officials from Defense Ministry and Military Police. The meeting was aimed to enable NGOs to address relevant army structures with questions and seek to find tools to solve them. Here he emphasized collaboration between the army and society.
