Nalbandian rates U.S. involvement in Karabakh process as positive![]() September 24, 2011 - 14:28 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On the sidelines of the 66th UN General Assembly session in New York, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian met with EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia Philippe Lefort to discuss a number of issues including the upcoming Eastern Partnership Summit in Warsaw and Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement process. Minister Nalbandian also met with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Wlliam Burns. The two men focused on bilateral cooperation and Karabakh talks, with Nalbandian rating the U.S. involvement in the process as positive. Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Moscow on April 22 to hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. Authorities said a total of 192 Azerbaijani troops were killed and 511 were wounded during Azerbaijan’s offensive. Partner news |
