Russia offers U.S., EU to join in securing peace at Caucasus

PanARMENIAN.Net - Russia is ready to act as a guarantor in non-use of force agreement between Abkhazia, Georgia and South Ossetia, Russian Foreign Minister told the United Nations General Assembly.

According to Sergey Lavrov, Russia would welcome the U.S. and EU’s adoption of similar responsibilities. “As guarantors, we’ll be ready to take steps to prevent use of force in the region or settle the situation based on International Law norms in case of illegal use of force,” the FM stressed.
